Press Release: Hallmark Introduces Limited Availability Products for 2018 Events
Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, itty bittys® and gifts among items planned at three events
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 19, 2018) — PopMinded by Hallmark will continue its participation in the nation’s largest pop culture fan gatherings later this year with limited quantities of products and collectibles inspired by iconic characters and developed for exclusive availability at three events.
PopMinded, which debuted in 2016, is Hallmark’s way to celebrate fandom with gifts and collectibles created and curated with all fans in mind. PopMinded continues and expands on Hallmark’s decade-long tradition of providing event attendees access to Hallmark’s ever popular event exclusive products available only through convention pop-up stores.
Hallmark Keepsake Ornament designs, itty bittys® plush characters, and other gift items will be sold in limited quantities at the three events remaining on their 2018 convention calendar:
- Comic-Con International San Diego, to be held July 19-22 in San Diego, California
- The Official 2018 Star Trek Convention, scheduled Aug. 1-5 at the Rio Suites Hotel in Las Vegas. (Star Trek exclusives only)

An ornament will be sold in limited quantities at the 2018 National BARBIE® Doll Collectors Convention, scheduled for July 11-14, in Phoenix , AZ.

Three ornament designs will be offered in limited quantities at Comic-Con® International, to be held July 19-22, 2018 in San Diego, Calif., and at New York Comic Con, set for October 4-6, 2018 in New York City.

2018 Sneak Peek: WELCOME to Keepsakes VILLAGE
Although the WELCOME to Keepsakes VILLAGE, KOC 30th Anniversary Event celebrated the last three decades that the national club has existed, it also gave a glimpse into what is to come by revealing several 2018 offerings. Throughout various seminars and at the Friday Night Special presentation, 2018 Sneak peeks were either shared during the presentations or included in the room decor.
During “A Close Look at Keepsake History,” Charles V. Young (Product Development Manager) and Samantha Bradbee (Hallmark Historian) talked about the origins and history of Keepsakes, including several favorite series and revealed what is in store for 2018.
During the “Holiday Décor Tutorials,” “Holly Jolly Delight,” the 9th in the Christmas Cupcake series was incorporated in one of the four decorating projects which was comprised of confectionary delights on a multi-tiered cake stand along with a couple of other domed cake stands.
During the “Keepsake Innovation Panel,” Phu Dang (Product Design Engineer), Kurt Gaulke (Product Design Manager) and Jean Newton (Senior Engineer) talked about the making of some of Hallmark’s most innovative ornament designs including the “Star Wars Storytellers Collection” and “Santa’s Christmas Clock.” At the end of the presentation, Phu shared a working model of the Snowflake Tree Topper which will be included in the 2018 Keepsake Ornament line.
As part of the “Friday Night Special, 30th KOC Anniversary Presentation,” Nicole Reid (Product Director Keepsake Ornaments) shared several exciting 2018 Sneak Peeks.

On Friday, Hallmark Keepsake Artist Robert Hurlburt made an appearance on the Hallmark Channel’s HOME & FAMILY show. During the segment, he breaks down how a Hallmark ornament gets made, starting with working alongside engineers for the design. Robert jokes that his biggest fans are his very own grandkids.
