About the Artists

As many of you know, beloved Mary Hamilton, creator of Mary’s Angels, passed away in January. After 60 years with Hallmark, Mary had retired in 2015.

The Mary’s Angels Keepsake Ornament series turns 30 this year. Throughout the entirety of the series, Mary’s designs have been sculpted by Robert Chad. When interviewed in late 2016, Mary gave Chad much of the credit for making this series one of Hallmark’s all-time most popular.

She shared, “I think that Robert Chad is responsible for making this series so successful. We have worked together on the entire series. He has done a wonderful job, and it makes me very proud. I’m so glad the series made it to the 30-year mark. Robert and I became good friends working on these ornaments, and I’m so glad we got to do it together.”

This year also marks Robert Chad’s 30th anniversary with Hallmark. He says of working with Mary, “I enjoyed keeping in touch with Mary after her retirement, and I will miss talking with her.”
