Fisher Boys

Two young boys were helping their father
mend their fishing nets.
As darkness fell, the boys could hear
their father’s familiar prayers.
The whispered words were comforting.
There was enough food for dinner, and all was well.
Suddenly, voices rang out. It was some shepherd friends
calling, “Come with us! We’re going to Bethlehem
to see the newborn King! The angels told us about it!”
The boys took a little bread and fish wrapped
in a cloth and ran to join their friends.
Soon they came to a stable. Seeing the baby Jesus
in Mary’s arms, they knelt to worship Him.
The sleepy Child opened his eyes,
reached out a tiny hand, and smiled.
On the way back, the brothers unwrapped their dinner.

The boys grew up to be fishermen, just like their father,
never forgetting that night of miracles.
