The The Child was only a few hours old
Legend of the
DOVE
but already the Wise Men had come.
Led by a star, bringing great treasures
the baby Jesus looked in wonder
at the gold and frankincense and myrrh.
But He seemed to know that something
even greater than was in store.
And then it happened. A Dove as white
as starlight flew into the stable,
bringing an olive branch. It was then
that the Baby smiled His first smile.
And He reached up and took
the green branch from the dove.
It was the gift He had been waiting for.
It was the reason He had been sent
into this world. For the olive branch is
the symbol of the hopes and fears of
all the yeas, the promise and the dream
