The Keepsake Studio caught up with Hallmark Artist Orville Wilson to talk about what’s ahead in 2026 and to share a look at an ornament he designed for next year.

Rogue One: A Star Wars™ Story
Orville: “This ornament was both fun and interesting to create, because we were able to implement a new lighting technology for the first time. It allows us to show Darth Vader’s™ light saber work just like you see in the movies, where the light draws out from the handle of the saber itself.
I also enjoyed animating the ornament’s light show to give an idea of how the lights could play with Vader and how many there would be. I did a bunch of renders, put them together within Photoshop and then created an animation that showed how the lights and sound would work together. That was given to our sound studio, and they were able to work from the animation to configure the sound with the lights. Vader has a red light saber but other lights on the ornament reflect when he comes into the door. It’s cool to see the motion of light within the ornament and how it works along with the sound.
Another interesting detail is that Darth Vader might change, even if just slightly, throughout the movies. If you’re just watching the movies just for entertainment, you might not notice that. But hard-core fans will notice subtle differences in helmets or other body features as the movies progress. It’s details like that we pay attention to because we want to represent everything properly for the licensor and for fans.
This ornament required a lot of collaboration with the sound studio, editors, engineers and our partners in manufacturing. I sculpted it and got the main structure developed, but then others helped make the sound and light come to life. There are a lot of details that go into magic ornaments, and we all worked together to get it just right.”

Stunning Santas
First in the series.
Stunning Santas – This first-in-series ornament by Terri Steiger features a whimsical Santa crafted from porcelain and accented with 14K gold, inspired by the Holiday Heirlooms series. His joyful, simple face peeks out from a swirled, oversized beard, while his flared, patterned robe—with gold-highlighted belt, cuffs, and hem—adds a touch of elegance. The design is completed with a pointed hat and a hanging loop, finished with a ribbon.
Belle V. Holiday, 22nd in the Snowtop Lodge series – by Adan Chung. Features a snowman with rosy cheeks and a carrot nose, wearing a Santa hat while holding a red garland strung with gold jingle bells. The bottom features a snowy village scene with a Santa snowman and reindeer flying by.
Stocking Stuffers, 6th in the series – by Sharon Visker. A classic green stocking with red heel, toe, and trim, featuring a snowman motif on the front and filled with toys her sons would have asked for as children including a teddy bear, robot baseball, rubber ducky, and a candy cane. Design includes .
Cornflower Fairy, Crayola – by Kristina Gaughran. Features a pretty pixie sitting on a blue flower while holding her signature Cornflower Crayola crayon.
Nifty Fifties Keepsake Ornaments – by Gregor Benedetti. Features Caroling Snowmen.
Orange Cat Energy, Mischievous Kittens, Special edition – This Halloween ornament by Simone Mariano features a cute orange cat dressed as a witch, wearing a crooked black witch hat with an orange band, as it peers mischievously over the rim of a large, textured black cauldron filled with bright, translucent green, bubbling potion.
Hedwig, Harry Potter – by Emma Leturgez-Smith. Metallic appearance with gold overlay.
Double Trouble, Disney Chip & Dale – A playful Halloween ornament featuring Chip and Dale in bright orange jack-o’-lantern costumes. Each chipmunk sits with legs outstretched inside a smiling carved pumpkin, topped with a pumpkin cap and green stem. Chip poses in an adorable “surprised” moment with hands to his cheeks, while Dale throws his arms up in pure, joyful excitement.
Festival Fondue – This miniature Christmas tree ornament, designed by artist Matt Johnson, resembles a tiny tabletop communal cooker, decorated with festive red and green accents and a cheerful snowman face.

A Charlie Brown Christmas – The PEANUTS gang ornament with video and sound – This ornament features Snoopy perched atop a vintage television, with the screen displaying A Charlie Brown Christmas. Using modern technology, the original show comes to life with both video and sound. Designed by Jake Angell & Tim Bishop.
Jack’s Flight, Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas sound, light & motion Christmas tabletop – This Nightmare Before Christmas tabletop by Sharon Visker depicts the Pumpkin King dressed like “Sandy Claws” at the reins of his coffin sleigh, pulled by a team of skeleton reindeer, with Zero leading the way as they soar over swirling, stylized clouds.

Santa and his Sleigh – This tabletop centerpiece was created as a special Artist Collaboration design, with every artist in the Keepsake studio contributing a unique personal creative touch, while the overall sculpt was done by Matt Johnson. It features Santa Claus in his iconic red suit holding a wrapped gift beside a red and gold sleigh adorned with elegant scrollwork and overflowing with colorful toys, animals, and festive figures. This piece will be available only at Hallmark signing events across the country, though locations and dates have not yet been finalized.
Disney Park Collection – Relive the fun of a visit to the Disney Parks. Future ornaments will represent past, present & future rides.
Cinderella’s Castle, Christmas Tree Topper – This ornament features Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World, framed by a tall, arched backdrop with golden accents. Soft pastel tones, gray stonework, and deep blue spires highlight the castle’s intricate details. Above the castle, a miniature sculpt of Tinker Bell hangs from an eyelet, appearing to fly gracefully over the scene. Plug it into the included power adapter for constant illumination, then press the button on the included remote control to see fireworks light up the background and start a synchronized sound-and-light show. Connect one or more Disney Parks Collection ornaments (each sold separately) to unlock additional performances you can’t access with this ornament alone.
Dumbo The Flying Elephant, Interactive light. sound & motion – This playful ornament brings Disney’s classic Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride (circa 1955) to life. At the center stands a colorful, circus-style tower topped with a whimsical pink-and-cream striped canopy and an orange crown. Dumbo figures attach to the tower with striped arms and soar around it with outstretched ears, each wearing a tiny circus hat and matching circus collar that capture the joyful motion of the spinning ride. The round base features bright orange, white and blue geometric patterns, completing the nostalgic carnival look.
The ornament connects to Hallmark’s Keepsake Power Cord for a continuous light effect and automatically rotates every 90 seconds. Press the button to hear the original song from this beloved Disney Parks attraction.

The Keepsake Studio spoke with Hallmark Artist Simone Mariano about herself and shared a glimpse of an ornament she created for 2025.
Sweet Lil’ Sushi

Simone: “I loved making Sweet Lil’ Sushi—it’s just so adorable! The design is actually based on a sushi ornament I designed in my previous role for the Hallmark Tree Trimmers collection. But I knew I wanted to have sushi on a tray, and I liked the contrasting look between the makimono and nigiri sushi. The wooden serving tray and chopsticks were included to add more visual interest, and they help emulate sushi you’d maybe be served in a restaurant. I’m half Japanese on my mom’s side, and sushi is one of my favorite foods, so it was really fun to work on something so culturally relevant for me. You better believe my mom is gifting one to every member of her family!”

Before she became the cheerful holiday darling she is now, the Retro Christmas Kitty began her life in an entirely different season—and in an entirely different color.
She was once a sleek and mischievous Retro Black Cat, a beloved Halloween companion crafted with vintage charm and irresistible personality. Fans adored her playful grin and expressive eyes. Among those fans was one who made a suggestion that sparked something magical:
“What if she had a Christmas counterpart?”
The idea lit up Joanne Wright’s imagination.
She returned to the original sculpt, studying the familiar curves of the cheeks, the whimsical smile, the spark of character already present. Joanne could see the possibilities—the chance to reshape this little cat into a festive feline ready for a whole new season.
The midnight fur softened into a warm winter white. What once belonged to spooky season began to glow with holiday cheer.
Piece by piece, the kitten transformed.
Her cheeks turned a rosy pink, as if she’d just bounded through fresh snow. Her eyes brightened into sparkling winter blue. Joanne wrapped a big, velvety red bow beneath her chin and added a shiny silver bell that seemed ready to jingle at any moment. Finally, she placed a bright red Santa hat with a fluffy pom-pom on top—completing the kitten’s joyful new identity.
She was no longer the Retro Black Cat.
She had become something entirely her own:
the Retro Christmas Kitty—a holiday companion with the heart of a classic and the spirit of a fan-inspired dream.
From spooky-season roots to holiday sparkle, the Retro Christmas Kitty’s journey is a celebration of imagination and the magic that happens when artists and fans dream together.
Now she’s ready to leap into her new season—
to brighten mantels, warm hearts,
and bring a vintage glow to Christmas displays everywhere.

2026 Artist Insights: Dream Box ornaments
Shall we dance?
Read on to hear how the 2026 Dream Box ornaments got ballroom ready.
Santa and Mrs. Claus have been the cutest couple in the North Pole for hundreds of years. So when Keepsake Artist Gregor Benedetti was asked for a fresh take on the iconic characters, he was excited to give it a whirl-pun intended!

“Charles Young, one of our art directors, came to me with drawings from our archives that had beautiful character styling. He said, ‘Take a look at these and think about the story you want to tell in the Dream Box,'” Gregor says. “So I started to brainstorm a bit with Lindsay Evans, our editorial director. I was asking, what’s Santa doing? and then I threw out, what if he were dancing with Mrs. Claus?”
After that initial brainstorm, Gregor started sketching until he landed on the perfect pose. Then he added charming touches like the mistletoe pinned on Santa’s hat and the green ribbon in Mrs. Claus’s hair.
But there’s one missing detail that just might be our favorite: Mrs. Claus isn’t wearing glasses, which gives the classic character an unexpected twist. After sketching, Gregor passed along the design to Keepsake Artist Tammy Haddix, who added her own flair to the pair as she sculpted.
“What we all loved about Gregor’s design was the movement and joy that came through in the sketch. So much storytelling in one little ornament! You can tell they’re mid-twirl, dancing along to their favorite song,” says Lindsay.
Musical Holiday Gramophone
Dream Box
Speaking of their favorite song, the 2026 Dream Box also features a gorgeous, retro-style gramophone ornament. Gregor, Lindsay and Keepsake Engineer Samantha Heryford worked together to add an extra bit of Keepsake magic-a hand crank that spins the record and plays music.
“I imagined what song Santa and Mrs. Claus might be listening to, dancing together after a long day of work, just enjoying each other’s company,” says Lindsay. “We wanted to capture that nostalgia, so we chose a song with a vintage feel, and our sound studio added in soft crackles, scratches and popping like you’d hear with an old gramophone.”
“The best part of working on a piece like this is that we all notice different things,” says Samantha. “Gregor might be looking at color, Lindsay is trying to get the sound just right and I’m trying to figure out where the speaker can go-and then it all comes together beautifully.”
That’s music to our ears! The team’s collaboration and attention to detail definitely shine through in these ornaments, which begin shipping in April in the Dream Box. Beloved Keepsake Artist Terri Steiger retired this year but, before she left, she gave us all a pretty special parting gift: a new ornament series!
Stunning Santas was inspired by the Holiday Heirlooms series, available exclusively to Hallmark+ members, and features complementary styling, colors and materials. That means both series look extra lovely when displayed together!
“Terri combined her love of Kaiser-style porcelain, patterns created by renowned artist Andrew Szoeke and the exaggerated Santa shapes and intricate beards of artwork from our archives,” says Art Director Toni Gagarin.
Each ornament in this series will feature a porcelain Santa with gorgeous gold accents and pretty patterns aplenty. Who’s taking over for Terri, you ask? We’ll keep that secret to ourselves… for now!
HALLMARK HISTORY: Artist and calligrapher Andrew Szoeke worked as a Hallmark consultant and freelancer for two decades after J.C. Hall and Design Director Jeannette Lee discovered his calligraphy on a business trip to New York City in 1948. That same year, he created the Hallmark script logo and its accompanying crown. Now, his patterns are taking on a new life in the Keepsake Ornament line!
