Comic Con Exclusive Keepsake Ornaments Announced
Comic-Con (short for San Diego Comic-Con International) is an annual fan convention that was founded in 1970. It is traditionally a four-day event (Thursday through Sunday — though a four-hour preview night on Wednesday is open to professionals, exhibitors, and some guests pre-registered for all four days) held during the summer in San Diego, California, at the San Diego Convention Center.
Originally showcasing comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television, and related popular arts, the convention has expanded over the years to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels. The convention is the largest in the Western Hemisphere.
Features the publisher’s three most iconic heroes bursting into action from the very comic books in which they were made their first cover appearances—Woman in Sensation Comics No. 1 (January 1942), Superman in Action Comics No. 1 (June 1938) and Batman in Detective Comics No. 27 (May 1939).
Depicts the boss you love to hate from television’s “The Simpsons” offering his idea of a generous holiday gift.
* NOTE: Both Protocol droids appeared in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™. While the white-armored K-3PO is shown as an advisor in the base’s command center during the Imperial attack that ultimately drove the rebels back into space, the red-plated R-3PO can be seen working within the Rebels’ secret Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth.
