Hallmark Customer Service has confirmed that they are ending the practice of redepositing the points of expired Crown Rewards certificates.
Crown Rewards members have until until the end of business today, Monday, October 21, 2019, to call 1-800-HALLMARK to ask for their expired certificates to be redeposited. Customer Service phone lines close at 8:00 pm Mountain Time.
After today, Crown Rewards certificates will remain valid for 45 days after their expiration date and then be permanently lost if not used. (This does not apply to Bonus reward certificates, which always expire on the date shown.)
Note: In the past, many Crown Reward members who were unaware they had expired certificates were surprised by Customer Service to find out they actually did have some outstanding.
UPDATE (10.21.19 @ 7:00 pm) – The policy above has been modified to allow each Crown Rewards member one (1) complimentary reissue of a single, expired Crown Rewards certificate per calendar year. For example, if a member let a $5 and a $20 Crown Rewards certificate expire in a calendar year, the member could request the $20 certificate be reissued, but the $5 would be lost.
I appreciate that hallmark has allowed us to redeposit in the past. I do wish that it would be left to the account owner to order certificates on our timeline then vs Hallmark issuing based on an event mailer. I use mine from Premier to Janary for most part. Valentine mailers often include certificare from my earnings that I did not request. Is there a timeline for when points must be converted? If no, then I should make the choice to convert, not Hallmark. Thank you for always keeping us up to date! Carol
