This commemorative ornament, 44th in the series began as one of the tallest Christmas trees in the nation.  the 100′ Douglas fir was a gift to Kansas City from Cascade Timber Consulting, Inc. in Oregon and travelled to Crown Center Square where it became the 2023 Mayor’s Christmas Tree.

The tree represents the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, a citywide charity that makes the season merrier for those in need.  After the holidays, wood from the tree is made into a limited-edition ornament.  Design by Hallmark Artist Sheyda Best, this year’s ornament celebrates the first Hallmark Christmas Experience at Crown Center.

Variation in wood grain makes each ornament a one-of-a-kind treasure that embodies the spirit of holiday giving—proceeds from the sale of these ornaments benefit the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund.
