PEZ® Candy, with its many flavors and fanciful dispensers, has been a favorite of Americans since its introduction here in 1952. This design is based on one of several hundred “character heads” produced by the company over the years. Several versions of this dispenser were produced by the company–some with a black base, and others with a white one.

The name PEZ® is derived from the German word for peppermint, the flavor of the candy when it was created in Vienna, Austria, more than 65 years ago.
