
Robert LeRoy “Satchel” Paige pitched more than 2,500 games in a colorful career that began in 1926. Known for his legendary fastball and quick wit, he played 22 years in the Negro Leagues before joining the Cleveland Indians in 1948. Satchel pitched his final major league game in 1965.
