“Sky Rider”

A Pony for Christmas Hand-painted Repaint

“This pony was in the series–I believe in 2017–originally as a gray horse. And I admit I am a little influenced by television and movies when it comes to horses. I grew up watching Disney and Bonanza and always wanted to paint one of those beautiful horses from that history. And I’d loved Little Joe Cartwright’s paint horse.

Every Sunday night, my family sat, we watched Bonanza, we watched the Wonderful World of Disney. But I loved those four horses coming across the screen. So I did a paint horse with an iridescent finish.

And then Sue Tague told me years ago never to throw any jewelry away. And yes, very good advice. And this pull-string is from Santa Fe. My daughter had picked up these stones. Their black onyx and marble. So I used that. And then the reins are silver from a necklace that my daughter wear to prom. It’s got good sparkle, and the tail got some nice sparkle.

So a little paint horse and I’ve got multi-color bricks, things I can’t do in the regular series. So a lot of fun.

And this comes with also the repaint that we only did 172 of that is a Palomino. So that is the bonus.

And I call him “Sky Rider.” And the reason is I have two new puppies, my COVID Puppies. And one of them was black and white like this horse, and her name is “Sky.” So she kept showing up while I was painting.”
