Rodney Gentry appreciates the work that goes into a Keepsake Ornament well before any actual hands-on creation. “It’s a combination of engineering and artistry that starts with a lot of hard work up front. It’s not always an A to Z progression,” says Rodney. “You wear a lot of different hats-researcher, historian, engineer, craftsman-on the way to a completed piece that will be both true to life and emotionally satisfying.”

Ken Sheldon “I was destined to be a Hallmark Artist,” says Illustrator Ken Sheldon. Immersed in Hallmark books and culture by an art-enthusiast mother, Ken’s childhood interest in drawing quickly led to oil painting as a teen, then art school, followed by an internship and a swiftly accepted job offer at-you guessed it-Hallmark! Now eagerly applying his talents to ornaments, Ken is grateful for his Hallmark heritage. “I have lived the dream!” he says.
