NERDY NUGGET – Designed for the 1984 film Ghostbusters, Ecto-1 is a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood professional chassis fitted with a Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex ambulance body. The newest version includes doors that fit a retractable chair, allowing for someone to release a “Remote Trap Vehicle,” or R.T.V., to catch ghosts on the move. The original film’s sound designer created Ecto-1’s siren using a modified recording of a leopard’s snarl.
