Baking Buddies

Kris Gaughran grew up watching her aspiring-artist mother enter paintings in 4H competitions, intricately decorate cookies, and never give up on her passion for creating. “She inspired me to do the same,” Kris explains. “From early on, I found so many ways to be creative. I would draw, doodle, and add illustrations to the stories I read. My mom’s unwavering example continues to fuel my artistic expression today.”

“Every year my sweet little penguins are doing fun things and creating memories. This year they decided to try their hand at baking. So here we have baking buddies. I love the little gumdrops, and the little candy canes, and all the little candies on the rooftop, and just how that frosting sparkles. It’s just perfect. One of my favorite parts about it is this little guy right here because he is taking it very seriously, and wearing his little chef hat. This ornament here reminds me of the holidays and getting my boys into the kitchen. I love to do that.
