When he creates Keepsake Ornaments, Rodney Gentry takes his biggest cues from nature. “The way wood weathers on a dock–how it saturates, dries, and cracks. The way birds’ wings move in flight vs. when they land. Nature does a lot of organic engineering, and I try to model that in my Keepsake work.”

Rodney Gentry appreciates the work that goes into a Keepsake Ornament well before any actual hands on creation. “It’s a combination of engineering and artistry that starts with a lot of hard work up front. It’s not always an A to Z progression,” says Rodney. “You wear a lot of different hats-researcher, historian, engineer, craftsman-on the way to a completed piece that will be both true to life and emotionally satisfying.”
