The Language of Flowers Giving flowers is a centuries-old method of sending thoughts and wishes that transcend words. In Victorian times, the language of flowers was used to send messages to loved ones. And in 1939 Hallmark Cards created a pansy card that went on to become one of the most popular Hallmark greeting cards ever introduced. Inspired by this tradition, Keepsake Ornament artist Sue Tague has created a new series of angels carrying bouquets filled with special meaning. This year’s design is a lovely handcrafted angel named Pansy who carries a delicate, silver-plated container filled with the flowers for which she was named. In the language of flowers, the pansy stands for thoughts. This ornament is dated and displays the artist’s initials and the series verification symbol. Every garden flower has a language of its own. – Barbara Loots
