Created by celebrated artist Otto Kuhni, the original 1968 Hot Wheels™ packaging featured the illustrated image of a cool “California Custom” car that was never actually produced.  Nearly four decades later, when the time came to find a vehicle to represent Hot Wheels’ 40th anniversary, veteran designer Larry Wood came up with the idea to finally develop this car, which he affectionately dubbed “The Lost Redline.”  Now a rolling reality officially named the “Custom Otto,” its spectraflame paint, “mag” wheels, and signature redline tires capture the timeless spirit that has made Hot Wheels vehicles the world’s most beloved die-cast metal cars for over forty years.

This special edition ornament was issued in limited quantities and first available at the 2008 Keepsake Ornament Debut event.
