George Brett

“Play ball!”  And so George Brett did, with incomparable intensity, for 21 years (1973 – 1993).  A tireless competitor, whether he was patrolling the hot corner or spraying hits from the batter’s box, Brett earned the respect and admiration of fans and players throughout the Majors.  A 13-time AL™ All-Star and member of the Royals 1985 World Series® championship team, he is the only Major League™ player to hold a batting title in each of 3 decades.  He also joined the 3000-hit club in 1992.  George Brett was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame™ on July 25, 1999.
