Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent

Of all the villains in Walt Disney’s classic films, none is more petty and spiteful than Maleficent of Sleeping Beauty. When Princess Aurora is born, a proud King Stefan invites his whole kingdom to a celebration- everyone but Maleficent, that is. The villainess crashes the party with a terrible gift-a spell dooming Aurora to enter a deep sleep on her sixteenth birthday. Only a kiss from her true love can break the spell and awaken the princess. The king takes great lengths to hide his daughter, but to no avail, for on the fateful day, Maleficent lures Aurora to her destiny. But Maleficent’s power is no match for love. In a final battle, she transforms herself into a dragon but is slain by Prince Phillip, who then awakens Aurora with a kiss.
