Love’s Journey Begins Keepsake Artists Edythe Kegrize and Jim Kemme wove creativity and caring into their Love’s Journey Begins ornament. One of the first challenges Edythe took on when designing was to figure out a tender way to display baby’s photo. ” It just seemed to make perfect sense to do a hot air balloon shape because it makes a natural frame,” Edythe says. The basket also gave her room to add a cuddly character that complemented the theme. Then she added the knitted pattern of a baby blanket. “The idea was to bring a softness and a texture to create a warm and cozy feel,” Edythe says. When she was done drawing the concept, Edythe turned to another longtime Keepsake artist, Jim Kemme, to sculpt it. “Jim took my little rough sketch and brought it to life.”
