Olive Oyl is the “sweet patootie” of Popeye the Sailorman. She was originally the heroine of the Thimble Theatre comic strip, which began in 1991 and revolved around her family. This “goil” with the slightly fickle heart fell in love with Popeye 10 years later. As for Swee’Pea, the “infink” adopted by Popeye, he’d rather eat ice cream than spinach!
