Spread Some Christmas Cheer
With holiday decorating in full swing, November is a busy time for collectors. While you’re unpacking your Keepsake Ornaments, you might want to think about using some of them to spread the word about your local club.
The Okie Keepsaker’s Collector’s Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently found a unique way to do just that.
“Each month we meet at the Peggy Helmerich Library in Tulsa,” explains Club President Meri McGraw. The library coordinator asked the club if they would be interested in decorating the glass display shelves inside the entrance of the library. “We said yes, of course!” Peggy says.
August was the month for the Club’s display, so they created a back -to-school theme featuring CRAYOLA®-including the CRAYOLA® Keepsake Ornament Collector’s Series.
“Terri Legrand (our past president), Elaine Wibben, Bobbi Tessandori, Teresa Pattison and Carol Bernheimer all pitched in from their private collections to make the most colorful and fun display the library has ever had,” Meri reports.
The club’s handiwork received a lot of attention, and the club welcomed several new members as a result of their display.
“They’ve asked us to do another display in the future,” Meri says.
If your local library has a display area, you might want to ask if your club could decorate it for the holidays. It’s a chance to be creative, promote your club, and spread some Christmas cheer!
