For some people, art is a hobby. For others it is a job.  But for LaDene Votruba it’s her life.  Growing up on a farm near Wilson, Kansas, she dug clay from surrounding hillsides so she could sculpt.  Later, she pursued art at Fort Hayes State University in Kansas.

The fruits of her talent can be seen throughout a long Hallmark career.  Her 1992 “Greatest Story” design was the final edition in an exquisite collectible series.  Other standouts are Sweet Holiday Harmony, the sixth and final edition in the “Collector’s Plate” Series, and the Keepsake Magic Ornament The Dancing Nutcracker favorites.
