Poinsettias have been traditional symbols of the holiday season since the 17th century, when Franciscan friars from Mexico began placing the flowers in Christmas floral displays. Our hand-blown glass tree, featuring hand-appliec beading, was inspired by a 1960s poinsettia surface pattern that Hallmark Artist Matt Johnson discovered in our archives. Matt modernized the design and added gold detailing to make the floral pattern pop in elegant ways.
