Displaying a cherished crèche, or Nativity scene, is one of the loveliest traditions of the Christmas season. In 1998, Keepsake Ornaments introduced the Blessed Nativity Collection. This group of beautifully sculpted, hand-painted porcelain figures is being offered during a three-year period The 1998 set of ornaments, the “Holy Family,” is also being offered in 1999 and the year 2000.

New to the collection for 1999 are the Magi, the wise men who follow the Star to Bethlehem. This ornament represents Melchior, who kneels as he presents a treasure chest of gold for the Christ Child. Balthasar, who brings a gift of frankincense, and Caspar, who brings myrrh, are also available. The Magi will be offered again in the year 2000.

The final addition to the Blessed Nativity Collection will be the shepherds. They will be offered only in the year 2000.
