Our Club recently participated in the local Norton’s Children’s Hospital Festival of Trees. Over $450.00 was raised from our club member entries. We also conducted membership drives during Premiere and Debut and raised over $650.00 for Cap on Cancer. This is a non-profit organization created by our club member, Andrea Harris. She supplies caps, scarves and other head coverings to 6 hospitals/cancer centers in Louisville area. These are free to patients undergoing cancer treatment. We are very proud to boast 68 active members.
Our annual Christmas Dinner event was attended by 47 of 68 members along with 9 guests. We were joined by our sponsor store manager Lee Miller and her husband Adam. We are thrilled to have Ann’s Hallmark in Middletown, KY as our sponsor store. Our club meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month 10 months of the year with May’s meeting on the third Sunday. The meetings take place at 5:30 PM and we are allowed to use the store premises as well as shop before, during and after the meetings. The store recently celebrated 43 years as a Gold Crown operation.
The Derby City Hallmark Collectors Club now meets on the second Sunday of the month January through April and June through November. May’s meeting is the third Sunday to avoid conflict with Mother’s Day. The first Wednesday of December is our annual Christmas Dinner. Our Club recently changed dues to $20.00 annually with $15 applied towards ornament of your choice. Club year now operates May 1 to April 30. Store email now [email protected]. Current membership is 70.
