Event Recap

At the Friday night dinner event in San Dimas, CA, Keepsake Artist Sharon Visker and Product Development Manager Charles Young gave a presentation followed by a Q & A session.

Sharon started out by giving an overview of the ornament development process. During the presentation she showed several ‘Sweet Skull’ (her favorite 2014 ornament) creative samples, including: her original sculpt, an epoxy, a prototype and a finished piece, to demonstrate the progression of the piece through the various stages.

She then went on to talk about  a couple of ornaments that she has created for the 2015 Keepsake ornament line. First she presented a prototype of ‘Salty and Peppy’, 2nd in the ‘Tis the Seasoning’ series. She said the inspiration for this salt and pepper shakers came from real holiday ones from her childhood home.

Sharon then showed her final sneak peek for the evening, a prototype of ‘Holiday Hoedown’. For this the seventh installment in her unofficial musical animated series she revisited the dueling banjos theme she featured in ‘Jingle Jamboree’ from 2010. This time she has re-imagined the concept with a country and western Santa (playing a banjo), a squirrel (playing a guitar) and a beaver (playing a harmonica). All three characters move to Jingle Bells.
