Debra Nielsen Debra Nielsen’s creative career began when a neighbor told her about an interesting freelance opportunity at Hallmark. The idea appealed to the working mom busy raising young kids, and the job became her first opportunity to turn art–which had been a lifetime hobby–into a profession. Ten years later, Debra joined the Keepsake Studio full time. Little did she know when she started as a freelancer that she would still be a Keepsake Artist thirty-three years later.
