  • 7:45 pm – After dinner, we’ll welcome and introduce all participating local clubs and their sponsors, have a brief program presentation, and we’ll draw fro the evening’s grand prize – an “outdoor winter fun” wreath created by Diana McGehee, Keepsakes decorating expert.

Tickets

You need a ticket to attend.  Admission is free. However, individual admission tickets are required for entrance into the dinner events.  Local club members do not have to be registered Artists On Tour attendees to be eligible to attend the Local Club Tour, but must be 1999 members of the national Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club (KOCC) and current members of their local club.

Please designate one individual to act on behalf of the entire club when requesting tickets.  The designated individual will be responsible for distributing the admission tickets to local club members.

To ensure that all local club members who wish to attend have an opportunity to do so, we ask that you request only the number of tickets your club/retail sponsor actually will use.  Sorry, no guests.  Infants in strollers will be admitted without a ticket.  However, an admission ticket will be required for all other children.  Children must be 1999 Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club members and current members of a local club.

Capacity is limited based on the size of the meeting room at each location.  Local club members belonging to more than one club should choose only one club through which to order a ticket.

Registration

Registration forms are due July 1, 1999.  To apply for admission tickets, please complete and return the registration from and attendee list.  Requests for tickets will be taken by mail only.  KOCC is not responsible for lost, stolen or undeliverable mail.  Limit one registration form and attendee list per local club, per city please.

Registration Confirmation

We’ll confirm that we’ve heard from you, and we’ll send tickets by July 6.  KOCC will send a letter in response to all registration forms received.  If the number of tickets requested exceeds our supply, KOCC reserves the right to limit the number of tickets given to each club.  It will be up to each local club contact person to distribute the available tickets to its members.  We will give admission tickets to each club on a space-available, first-come, first-served basis.  We suggest you register early, as space is limited.  Priority will be given to clubs in the Artists On Tour host state.  Our goal is to have representation from every club that wishes to attend.

We will mail admission tickets to the contact person via first-class mail by July 6.  Please keep the admission tickets in a safe place; we are unable to replace lost or stolen tickets.  If a local club member is registered but is unable to attend, please send another local club members who is a 1999 national Club member in that person’s place.  This will ensure that all of the pre-paid diner reservations that Hallmark will be making will be used and enjoyed.  KOCC can not guarantee that your entire party will be seated together.

Casual attire is appropriate for the evening.

If you have questions, call us toll free at 1-800-523-5839 (7:00 am to 7:00 pm CT, M-F)

Wreath Display

The Wreath Display is a special activity exclusively for individual local club members who are attending the 1999 Local Club Tour.  It’s your chance to show your creative ideas, and put forward your best decorating inspiration and talent.  Wreaths will be displayed in the Artists On Tour (AOT) Exhibit Hall.

Everyone is a winner!  This is not a contest.  Everyone who submits a wreath for display will “win” a participation gift — and exclusive 1999 Keepsake Ornament created by Linda Sickman.

Guidelines

  • The Wreath Display activity is exclusively for 1999 members of the national Keepsake Ornament Collector’s Club who are attending the 1999 Local Club Tour.  Individual local club members must submit their wreaths in person Friday evening.  One wreath per local club member, please.
  • All wreaths must be turned in between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm Friday, before the Local Club Tour dinner.  At that time, each participant will receive a claim ticket and the participation gift.
  • All wreaths must be picked up from the AOT Exhibit Hall between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Saturday.  Use the claim ticket you received Friday evening to pick up your wreath.  Wreaths will not be available for pick up before 3:00 pm.  unclaimed wreaths will be discarded.
  • All wreaths must be no larger than 12 inches in outside diameter.
  • You must use Keepsake Ornaments (among other decorative items) to decorate your wreath!  All items must be safely secured to the wreath.
  • All wreaths must have a hook secured to the back when they are turned in for display.  All hooks must be strong enough to hold the wreath.  We will not be able to display wreaths that don’t have strong hooks.  (The wreaths will be hung on white panels.)
  • Live greenery and/or lit candles are not permitted on wreaths due to fire-safety codes.  Electrical hook-ups will not be available.
  • Not all wreaths may be displayed due to space limitations.  Hallmark and The Event Group, Inc. will have final judgement with regard to wreath display.
  • Security will not be provided.  Neither Hallmark nor The Event Group, Inc., is responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
  • By participating in the Wreath Display, local clubs and their retail sponsors willingly consent to the use of their club name and/or member’s names, photographs or likenesses to be used for promotional or any other purposes without compensation.

Notes from the Event

Keepsake artists go back on tour

Hallmark Keepsake Ornament artists are taking their show on the road again this year — a show designed to be box-office gold.

After a hiatus last year for the Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments’ 25-year anniversary celebration in Kansas City, “Artists On Tour” visits six cities this summer.  The tour began July 31 in Milwaukee, and has two stop still to make.  Five of the six are new stops for the tour, including vacation destinations such as Las Vegas.  Eight Hallmark artists are visiting each city — an increase over the six who have traveled in previous years.

In fact, if there’s a single theme to Artists On Tour 1999, says Tex Ann Kraft, assistant manager — Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Collectors Club, it’s ” more, more, more.”  She says, “There are more artists, more activities, more decorating ideas, more exclusive ornament gifts, and more prizes and giveaways.”

More artists, more gifts, more exclusive products

At each event, three signing artists are available to personally sign Keepsake Ornaments or Collectibles they have sculpted, and the other artists join members in activities, including demonstrations of Keepsake Ornament decorating ideas.  Members also may purchase exclusive products available only at Artists On Tour.  The products include a series of three Studio Edition pieces, a gold-plated Hallmark Keepsake Miniature Ornament and an Artists On Tour lapel pin and T-shirt.

All those attending Artists On Tour receive an exclusive thank-you ornament, an unpainted ornament to decorate during the event and a gift bag full of Hallmark products.  There are sculpting and painting activities and prize giveaways throughout the day.

Rewarding loyal customers

Only 1999 national Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Collector’s Club members may register for Artists On Tour.  Tex Ann says that rewarding collectors is important, as the average club member purchases 35 ornaments per year, compared with the average consumer who buys only three.

“This is a chance for us to meet our best customers and experience their passion,” Tex Ann says.

It also may be collectors’ last chance to see this version of Artists Our Tour.  Tex Ann says a new and different national Club program is planned for next year.
