Mistletoe

The Christmas blizzard that strikes the town of Mitford in Jan Karon’s best-selling novel, A Light in the Window, begins as a charming snowfall. As Father Tim observed, “Mitford was fast becoming one of those miniature villages in a globe, which, when shaken and set on its base, literally teemed with falling flakes.” It’s easy to imagine that when the sky began to clear, Mitford’s children would bundle up and come tumbling forth from their cozy homes to play in the snow. They might even leave a trail of cheerful snowmen with colorful scarves or knit caps- or even a bucket for a “hat.”
